OUR VISION & ETHOS
We combine a clear Christian identity with an operational structure that seeks to bring Muslims and Christians alongside one
another in the pursuit of producing academically excellent research, as well as effective teaching, and training.
Our vision is the dream that we hold before us and what helps to spur us on in our work.
The vision of CMCS is to see Muslim-Christian relationships transformed through shared academic study and by following the example of Jesus Christ.
The purpose is what we do week by week as we seek to make our vision a reality.
HOW WE WORK
We equip leaders, resource scholars, disseminate and develop Biblically-based thinking at the Muslim-Christian interface through teaching, research and public education.
OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH
The Centre for Muslim-Christian Studies has a Christian identity. CMCS and the Solomon Academic Trust work on the basis of:
The Christian faith in accordance with the historic creeds and reformation confessions, acknowledging the human and divine Jesus as Messiah and accepting the Bible as the trustworthy, final authority.
Our values are those principles that we hold to as vital to the way we work, whether it is with each other, with our students, or at our desks.
Academic excellence; building respect between Muslims and Christians; truth-seeking and truth-speaking in both our studies and our relationships; and hospitality as the context for joint study.
